Speaker Event

Together, BHS Librarian Christine Magoon, Bedford Education Foundation (BEF), and the BHSPA are bringing a popular author to Bedford.

Val Emmich, actor, singer-songwriter, and author, most well known for his best-selling novel adaptation of the musical "Dear Evan Hansen", will be speaking at BHS and run a writing workshop with our students, thanks to the efforts of BHS librarian Christine Magoon, who requested and was awarded a BEF grant to pay for Val Emmich's presentation to Bedford High School.

This full-day visit will center around the theme of being “All of You” and include discussion of the writing process and a songwriting session. This grant brings many interdisciplinary elements to BHS and supports the discussion of the social issues that affect all students.  In addition to the author visit, as part of this grant, the BEF also funded two classroom sets of Dear Evan Hansen: The Novel.

The BHSPA is happy to support this enrichment event by covering the travel and accommodations portion of Mr. Emmich's engagement.

Details about the visit will be released soon.
