Class of 2018 Graduation Information and Important Dates

Update as of 5-16-18:

Dear BHS Families,

Due to a scheduling glitch that was outside of our control or purview, the 2018 BHS Graduation Ceremony will take place at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell (300 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Lowell, MA  01854) instead of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. While we believe the Lowell Memorial Auditorium provides a more intimate and personal graduation ceremony, we have had many beautiful and successful graduation ceremonies at the Tsongas Center over more than 10 years and are confident that this year will continue this tradition.

Information regarding directions and parking will be posted the BHS Website and an updated Senior Events calendar will be shared with the correct information.  If you have any questions, please contact the student office (781) 275-1700 x1111

Graduation Date:  Thursday, June 7, 2018

Time:   Ceremony begins at 6:15pm

Location: Tsongas Center

Original message of 05-01-18:

Though this message is intended for parent(s)/guardian(s) of seniors, I know that many are attending the ceremony to support friends and other family members. The Class of 2018 will be graduating in just over a month.  The commencement ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 7th at 6:15 pm.

It has been a wonderful couple of years getting to know your children who are now young adults.  They are ready to tackle life after high school.  I bet it is difficult to imagine that your once "little ones" are now ready to graduate.  Time certainly does fly. I look forward to sharing this important milestone of with all of you and our students.

Please read this entire message as it contains all of the necessary information regarding graduation and other important dates pertaining to the Class of 2018. Additionally, information about the iPad collection is attached. There will be additional communication over the next month. In the interim, please feel free to reach out with any questions.  Please take a deep breath (or many deep breaths) and try to enjoy the moments leading up to graduation.

Important Information:

  • The faculty speaker this year for graduation, as nominated by the Class of 2018, is Mr. Berlino, an English teacher at Bedford High School and is honored to share some words and advice with the Class of 2018.
  • In addition to the Class President, Michael Chen, imparting words of wisdom at graduation, another student will have the opportunity to address the class as well.  [Seniors had an opportunity to submit a speech for consideration, and, as of May 7th, one was selected.]

Seniors must take care of financial obligations before we give them a cap and gown (on the rehearsal date).  Statements have been mailed home. Please try to resolve this as soon as possible. The Guidance Department will also be collecting transcript fees owed.  [READ THIS POST ABOUT CLASS OF 2018 NAVIANCE OBLIGATIONS]

The BHS Parent Association (BHSPA) is hosting a party for senior parents/guardians on the night of the prom. The event is scheduled for May 31st at Waxy O'Connors from 6:30- 9:30 pm. Registration is required. Please register for the event:
